Small Town Charm, Big Time Horsepower
Wilburton comes alive for the 9th Annual Relics and Rods Weekend on Saturday, June 28, hosted by Wilburton Main Street, Inc.—and if you’re a fan of classic cars and small-town vibes, there’s no place quite like it. Car enthusiasts from all over Oklahoma roll into town to experience this celebration of craftsmanship, community, and chrome.
What’s the big draw? Sure, the lineup of vintage rides and custom builds is unforgettable, but what really fuels the excitement are the trophies. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill awards. They’re one-of-a-kind, handcrafted pieces designed by Vinny Roberts, cut by the skilled hands at Alford Metals in Red Oak, Oklahoma, and assembled with passion by the Relics and Rods crew. Every year the designs are different, and collectors can’t wait to see this year’s creation—and win one to take home.

The day kicks off at Barong Café, where doors open at 5 a.m. for a hearty breakfast and warm community welcome. As morning stretches into day, Main Street fills with the scent of sizzling food trucks, the sparkle of polished metal, and the chatter of locals and visitors catching up. A snowcone truck is on site to help beat the heat, arts and crafts vendors show off their talents, and everyone—from show veterans to first-timers—is made to feel right at home.
Throughout the day, the excitement keeps building with live music from Big Marty and the Dirty Dogs, a custom trophy build-off, a 50/50 raffle, door prizes, and even the infamous pickle chuggin’ contest. Don’t forget to snag some exclusive Relics & Rods merch—those T-shirts go fast.
When the afternoon heat kicks in, folks pop into Main Street shops and restaurants to cool off, browse local wares, and fuel up for the evening ahead.
As the sun dips, Main Street Summer Cruise Night begins. Engines rumble to life as classic cars and local rides cruise the strip, soaking in the admiring glances of spectators lined along the sidewalks. It’s a ride through nostalgia, and it feels just right. The crowd votes for their favorite cruisers, and when darkness falls, the night wraps in true Wilburton style—with a stunning fireworks show lighting up the sky above the city. The fireworks begin at dark and can be seen from anywhere in the city, however Rosebure Park boasts the best viewing.

Classic cars, friends and family, live music, local flavors, and starry skies—it doesn’t get much more American than Relics and Rods Weekend in Wilburton. If you’re here, you already know. If not… you’re gonna want to put this one on your calendar.
